Chakra
The focal point of a ninja.
"...Chakra. Everyone has chakra. But it takes a skilled shinobi to 'manipulate' such a thing."
Using jutsu costs chakra. Every one knows that. But, the cost depends on the rank of the jutsu you are using.
| D-rank ~> 5
| C-rank ~> 10
| B-rank ~> 15
| A-rank ~> 20
| S-rank ~> 25
Jutsu like Lightning Release Armour, Sharingan, Byakūgan, and many other prolonged jutsu are paid with additional chakra cost per post for your jutsu to continue.

Now, for the creme dela creme. Chakra is based upon the rank of your character. The only exception of chakra increase is through clans (f.e. Senju clan and Uzumaki clan, or a custom clan). If your character's chakra reaches 15, I advise you to stop using your chakra. If your chakra reaches 0, have a nice sleep (f.e. unconsciousness).

Admin note #2: anytime you use a jutsu in a thread or fight, you MUST post the remaining chakra/full chakra at the bottom of the post. Once you start using jutsu, the chakra must be posted at the end of each post in order to keep track of your current levels.

Example:

So, he was trapped; in a prison made of Wood Release chakra. Before that, a mysterious branch had separated him from the girl as he was choking her. He was not surprised that she didn't react quickly. But, now he was trapped. Breaking the prison would be difficult, but he had multiple options onto getting himself free. At the moment though, he would just quietly sit there with his legs crossed and his eyes closed. A mastermind always keeps his plans a secret, even when it comes to an escape plan at that. One thing about this mastermind was that he loved analyzing the playing field before him. Everything around him was simple. Trees... nothing but trees... in his hideout in that manner. Well, it was only the entrance. "...I applaud for your try in containing me. If I had known that you were hiding..." His opened swiftly, keeping his Eternal Mangeykou Sharingan in activation, "...I would've hunted you down first." His reference to the Senju that separated him from the girl that he was choking. This battle was a nuisance since Kenjiro did not have any fun at all, but it was nothing to him at the moment. But, he knew one thing was good while being trapped: you are the conductor as everything around you is your instrument... and your clones is your band. With thinking that, he did hand seals with his right hand and positioned the hand in front of him as four clones from each corner outside of the prison appeared swiftly (Shadow Clone Technique). Now, the thought of the clones had still remained inside of his head as he finally thought of something for the clone. He issued the 4 clones to depart away from him and focus on the two ninja, two on each ninja. With the clones gone, he quickly created a swirling distortion centered on his right eye, opening a void to the other dimension. The effect had acted as an attractive force as it drew the male's body inwards and distorting his form until he disappeared swiftly (Kamui). He was known to be very versatile with the jutsu. The male then ejected himself from his left eye, landing outside of the prison and in the air. He had one shot at this. He issued the tiger hand seal with one hand as his lungs were then filled with Fire-Release chakra. He kneaded enough chakra to spew out a gruesome, yet very powerful attack, and he had just the perfect attack to end the wild forest. Fire-release chakra was then spewed out of his mouth as he expelled the fire release technique in a massive wall of flames, which covers an expansive range (Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation). With the flames burning that hot and even a high-rank jutsu at that, the entire forest made of wood had become to get on fire and became charred, easily breaking in the process. This one technique had also caused his clones to disappear in the process as the fire technique covered nearly the entire hideout. Whoever made contact with the flames had suffered Third Degree Burns.
